Reuse and Trace of Enterprise Architect's Design Model
ARCSeeker has the function to strongly connect with Enterprise Architect, and support the reuse of its UML models.
Overview
The following image shows an overview of the connection between Enterprise Architect and ARCSeeker.

The design information, created by Enterprise Architect, is imported to ARCSeeker in package unit when design phase is completed. The features, worked when importing, like automatic settings of some information or transforming diagrams into images are equipped in ARCSeeker. In this example, information is imported in package unit of functions to the following structure of Project Browser.

By using the following dialog, you can specify the target packages easily when importing them.

Importing the packages from the project file creates components, which automatically represent product, to structure the relationship between product and components. In here, the product component "ProductA" is created automatically. Each of the imported components can have the additional information so that it is managed as the users search them easily. It is not only the UML model, but you can add specification documents or test items documents in Word or Excel format to manage them all together.

When starting the new design phase, you can pick useful components from the various components to import to the new project. As below, select the components to be used from the registered ones.

Once the components are selected, ARCSeeker automatically searches the dependency components for the instant import.

The other product component "ProductB" is added automatically when using the component. It makes possible to trace the relationships between products and components. In the following, components "DomainB Interface" and "FunctionB2" are used in two products.

Imported and edited components are able to be updated as the same package, or registered as derived component. If the component is derived, you can trace and check the relationships as below.

How to Use this Feature
This Enterprise Architect connection feature is available right after the completion of ARCSeeker installation. It is included in the ARCSeeker free trial edition as well.
